DESCRIPTION:Join us on September 24\, 2026\, for an exciting and educational evening featuring amazing birds of prey. This unique presentation gives you the opportunity to learn about these incredible animals up close while supporting the animals at Action For Animals Humane Society. \nThe event will be held at the Action For Animals Activity & Administration Building\, located at 386 SR 217\, Latrobe\, PA 15650. Doors will open at 5:00 PM\, giving guests time to browse our basket raffle\, purchase refreshments\, and get settled in before the presentation begins. The Talon Talk presentation will start at 6:00 PM and will feature fascinating birds of prey along with educational information about their habitats\, behaviors\, and conservation. \nAdvance registration is required and the cost is $10 per person\, which also includes a chance to win a door prize. \nBring your family and friends for an evening of education\, entertainment\, and fun while helping support the homeless animals in our care. We look forward to seeing you there! \nThe event is presented by Nature’s Educators\, a 501c3 non-profit wildlife education program mainly serving southern and western Colorado giving educational presentations on wildlife and wild places. DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday September 26\, 2026. for Action for Animals Humane Society’s annual Walk for the Animals at Twin Lakes Park Pavilion #8\, or participate virtually from your favorite walking spot! Registration begins at 11:00 AM and the walk kicks off at 12:00 PM\, rain or shine. Enjoy a fun-filled day featuring a beautiful walk through the park\, vendors\, games\, contests\, basket raffles\, prizes\, and on-site veterinarians available to answer your pet health questions. \nFeatured guests include Chili Pepper Mini Horse Therapy\, PAws for safety\, and Ask The Vet with Trish Mucci\, DVM. \nEach registration includes an official Walk for the Animals t-shirt. Walkers attending the in-person event will receive their shirts the day of the walk if registered by September 1st. Virtual participants can have their shirts shipped for an added fee or pick them up for free at the AFA Shelter. Those registering by September 1st for either in-person or virtual participation will be contacted when their shirts are ready for pickup. \nPre-register online for $30\, or register the day of for $40; children are $20 each. Proceeds benefit the animals at Action for Animals Humane Society\, and the walker who raises the most funds will win a special prize.
